Schmidt and Daryl Schmidt; his grandparents, George Carl Schmidt and Mabel Morgan Schmidt; his adoptive parents, Gustave Carl Broeker and Meta Klingbeal Broeker; his son Allen Ludlow Lowder; his sister-in-law Linda Lowder Alsbrooks Tidwell; and also Louise Busch.
He is survived by: his wife F. Delores "Dee" Lowder Schmidt; his siblings, L. Paul Schmidt (Cela) of Williamsburg, VA, Patricia S. Barlow (Tom) of Bradenton, FL, Pauline S. Eshelman (Roger) of Mannington, WV and Jill S. Tong of Reno, NV; and his sister-in-law Sheila Lowder Purkey (Rob Baen) of Westmont, NJ. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
