She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. John Peter Schenkel; her parents, Joseph Grillo and Nadage Grillo; her daughter Heather Schenkel; her grandsons, Matthew Harkins and Eric Hancock; her great grandchild Carter White; and her close friend Buffy.
She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara Harkins, Jere Hancock (Roy), Estelle Evans (Eddie) of Sumter and Kendall Fiorini (Ken) of Raleigh, N. C.; her grandchildren, Beth White (Jeramy), Bradley Harkins, Roy Hancock (Kelli), Alyece Varner (Patrick), Courtney Jacobs (Brandon), Heather Cromer (Tyler), Nicholas Fiorini and Morgan Fiorini; her great grandchildren, Kinzlee, Gracie, Harper, Cody, Wesley, Remi, Nadaje Rose and Leo; and her pets, Eddie and Stormy.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation in her name be made to the Sumter SPCA, 1140 S. Guignard Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
