He was predeceased by : his parents, Harvey Hartley and Janet Whittle Hartley; and his siblings, Robert Hartley, Joanne Inabinet, Gracie Day, Claudia Williams, Linda Nelms and Clark Hartley.

He is survived by : his wife Patricia "Patsy" Jumper Hartley; his sons, Eric Hartley (Vanessa) and Brandon Hartley; his granddaughters, Jada Hatcher, Lakin Hartley and Lainey Hartley; and his siblings, James Hartley (Sandra), Rose Smith and Johnny Hartley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
