He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Edward Rhodes, Sr. and Martha Stepanian Rhodes; and his siblings, James, Frank and Clara.

He is survived by : his wife Marianne Rhodes of Taylors, SC; his children, Joseph Rhodes (Erica) of South Carolina, Bonnie Lamrock (Bob) of Massachusetts and Lance Rhodes (Lindsey) of Rhode Island; and his sister Carol Stanley (Ed) of New Hampshire. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
