It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rushell Lee Rogers (Florence, South Carolina), who passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire her loved ones, keeping Rushell's spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While her presence may be gone, her impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Perliss Lee and Lelia Lynch Lee; and her siblings, Alma McKay and Frank Lee. She is survived by: her daughters, Marie Matthews (Robbie), Wanda Rogers and Becky Driggers; her sisters, Joan Matthews and Bonnie Reynolds; and her grandsons, Dalton and Braxton McDuffie. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Layton-Anderson Funeral Home (4210 W Palmetto St, Florence, SC 29501). A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Elim Baptist Church Cemetery (1303 Olanta Hwy, Effingham, SC 29541).
