He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurin P. Dowling and Orilla Truluck Dowling; and his brother Laurin P. "Bud" Dowling, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Betty Banning Dowling of Timmonsville; his children, Thomas A. "Tad" Dowling, Jr. (Kristin), Adam T. Dowling (Jessica), Natalie Dowling Epting (Dana) and Tammie Dowling Moore; and his sisters, Mary Frances Windham and Jean Fields (Richard). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, private graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with social distancing protocol being observed.
