She was predeceased by : her parents, Colie Laverne Phillips and Miriam Elaine Thomas Phillips; and her siblings, Iris Phillips Bilstein, Bennett Laverne Phillips and James Byron Phillips.

She is survived by : her children, Karen Floyd Coker (Eric) of Turbeville, Aimee Floyd Shute (Mike) of Oak Ridge, TN and Merritt Lawrence "Rett" Floyd, Jr. (Tina) of Turbeville; and her siblings, Katherine Dale Phillips of Palm Springs, CA and Wayne Thomas Phillips (Sandra) of Stockdale, TX. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
