Gwen Morris Coker Obituary

We are sad to announce that on January 1, 2021, at the age of 78, Gwen Morris Coker of Turbeville, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Ellison Russell Morris, Jr. and Juanita Kirby Morris; her husband Howard D. "Pompy" Coker; her brother Ronnie Morris; her nephew Rodney Morris; her brother-in-law Perry Coker; and also, Cleo Coker, Burnette Coker, Janie Lee Coker, Jenny Moore, Lucky Coker, Jab Coker and Betty Lou Atkinson.

She is survived by : her children, Marsha Coker (Melanie Buckingham) of Greensboro, NC, Isla Dawn Coker of Turbeville and Doug Coker (Melony) of Turbeville; her nephew Ronald Morris; her friend Jerry Briggs of Scranton; her grandchildren, Jay Coker of California, Raven Coker (Alex Morris) of Florence, Paula "Doodle" Coker of Turbeville, Hunter Johnson of Turbeville and Galen Buckingham of Greensboro, NC; her sisters, Marie Morris of Turbeville, Margie Lee (Mike) of Sumter, Suzanne Coker of Turbeville and Vicky Morris of Turbeville; her brother-in-law Mutt Coker of Alcolu; her nieces and nephews, Bert Lee (Julie), Marta Holder (Kyle), Rebecca Anderson (Evan), Lynn Geddings (Marvin) and Robin Moody; and her friends, Betty Ann Coker, Gerald McElveen, Hal Whitlock and Sharon Ross. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, no visitation will be held, but the family would enjoy speaking with family and friends following the service. COVID-19 are precautions are required at the service, including face masks and social distancing.

In lieu of flower donations may be made to the Turbeville Children's Home in Turbeville, SC or the charity of one's choice.
