With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marcia Wood of Varnville, South Carolina, who passed away on April 18, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Marcia leaves behind and her impact on our lives. Though Marcia may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear, a guiding light that illuminates our paths in times of darkness.

She was predeceased by : her parents, K. "Happy" Campbell and Ruth Douglas Campbell; her former life partner Bobby Whittington; her husband Johnny Wood; and her siblings, Ethel Stanley Davis and Charles Campbell.

She is survived by : her sister Hazel Roberta Smith (J. L.); and her sister-in-law Catherine Whittington. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wood Residence (91 Academy St, Varnville, SC 29944). A graveside service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Sand Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sand Hill Cemetery Fund, Post Office Box 581, Hampton, South Carolina 29924.
