He was predeceased by: his father Charlie Ansel; and his siblings, Hazel Clark, Lola Mae Derrick, Hubert, Curtis, Charles and Grady Derrick.
He is survived by: his children, Anthony "Tony" Doyle Derrick of Walhalla, Regina Derrick Lewis of Walhalla, Rita Bates (Will) of Walhalla, Mary Lawing (Rick) of Westminster and Christina Ruth Moore (Bobby) of Westminster. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
