He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Clement Spivey and Helen Page Spivey; his sons, Scott Spivey and Chuck Spivey; and his brothers, Darrel Spivey and George Spivey.
He is survived by: his wife Laura McMillan Spivey; his children, Chris Spivey and Hope R. Spivey of North Carolina; and his brothers, Noel Spivey of Florence, Kenneth Spivey of Asheboro, Jimmy Spivey of Asheboro, Hampton L. Spivey of Ramseur and Brian Spivey of Julian. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren; as well as beloved host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
