It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby Hughes (Waterloo, South Carolina), born in Lincolnton, Georgia, who passed away on June 26, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Robert L Hughes; her parents, James Thomas (Jim) and Susan Elizabeth Scott; her siblings, Agnes Norman, Effie Lee McCurry, Sarah Lou Langley, Mary Norman, Nelda Fain, Dan and James Scott; her half-siblings, Robert, Thomas Scott and Fannie Mae Wilkes; and her adoptive daughter Susanna Chatos.
She is survived by: her children, Vera Hughes Ashley (Chuck), Tammy Hughes Field (Bill) of Deerfield Beach, FL., Robert Hughes (Joan) of Waterloo and David W. Hughes (Wanda) of Waterloo; and her adoptive daughters, Alicia Cooper and Michelle Williams. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren.
