He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Willie Sturgill and Jane Meeks Sturgill; his children, Bobby Sturgill (Christy) and Susan Cannon (Travis); his grandchildren, Tyler, Aubree, Haley Cannon, Caleb Sturgill, Lauren Meeks Brown, Joy and Taylor Crocker; and his brother Carrol Sturgill.
