He was predeceased by: his sons, Marc Alan Kempf and David Kempf; and his grandsons, Jason Kempf and Alan Jeffrey Kempf. He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his sons, Mike Kempf (Cheryl) and Jeff Kempf (Susan); his grandchildren, Jessica, Tania, Tristin, Justin, Kelsey and Katy; his great grandchildren, Alec, Collin, Jacob and Natalie; and his stepdaughters, Jennifer and Audra Johnson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family members, friends.
