He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Swanhorst and Erika Swanhorst; his siblings, Rosemarie Melius (Claire), Siegfreid Swanhorst and Eldon Swanhorst (Marty); and his siblings-in-law, Betty Swanhorst and Arlyn Boekelheide (Anne).
He is survived by: his wife Donna Boekelheide; his children, Curt Swanhorst (Cindy) of McCook, NE, Wendy Swanhorst of Denver, CO and Jann Engelstad (Mark) of Denver, CO; his grandchildren, John Swanhorst, Hanah Nothnagel (Nick), Gavin and Erika Engelstad; his great grandchild Ezra Nothnagel; his brothers, David Swanhorst (Hedi) and Robert Swanhorst (Trish); and his siblings-in-law, Joetta, Karen Swanhorst and Dean Boekelheide (Dolores). He is also survived by his wife, children and especially his grandchildren.
