He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Melvin Butler and Emma; his wife Cheryl Ganske; his children, Angel Shult (Rick) of Tulare, SD, Austin, Emma Shult, Shanna Hughes (Ryan) of Hitchcock, SD, Jennifer, Colin, Troy, Lucas, Lilly Hughes, Miranda McCarty of Aberdeen, Charles Dow and Landon McCarty; his brothers, Keith McCarty (Janet) of Elk River, MN, Kent McCarty of Minneapolis, Carlon Peterson of Minnesota and Blaine Peterson of Duluth, MN; his father-in-law Wayne Ganske; his brother Charles Ganske (Sara); and his stepfather Evan McCarty.
