The passing of Solveig M. Beckmen of Brandon, South Dakota leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on July 8, 2025 at the age of 90. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Norvald Maakestad and Agnes Maakestad (Linnevold); her husband Dick Beckmen (Dick); and her siblings, Joanne Holz and John Maakestad.
She is survived by: her children, Kari Sorensen (Neil), Siri Sorenson (Jeff), John Beckmen (Abby) and Mikkel Beckmen (Lois); her grandchildren, Annika Beckmen, Jorey Sorenson, Siri (Ryan Rothaus) and Anna (Adam Hirsch); and her siblings-in-law, Bobbie Maakestad, Barbara Miles, Constance Mampe and Tom (Judy Beckmen).
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Grace Lutheran Church (3300 E 18th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57103). A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials are preferred to the Richard Beckmen Rural Ministry scholarship at Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN or St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN or the charity of your choice.
