He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Senftner and Elizabeth Senftner (Laber); and his siblings, Frances, Mathilda, Agnes, Lawrence, Raymond and James.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Jund; his sons, David of Herreid and Scott (Jill) of Bismarck; and his sister Stella of Sun Valley, CA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
