He was predeceased by: his stepmother Elsie; and his siblings, Richard, Raymond, Emery, Jessie Fuerst (Alvin) and Theresa McDonald (Pat).

He is survived by: his wife Arlene Schmitz; and his brother Edward. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles was on the board of directors for many years where he solicited donations and found judges.
