He was predeceased by : his parents, Elizabeth Carlson (Gimbel) and Hans Carlson; and his son-in-law Mickey Merrigan. He is survived by : his former life partner Dorothy P. Thomas; his wife Madonna of Strasburg, ND; his children, Perry O. Carlson (Bonny) of Aberdeen, SD, Diane D. Merrigan of Canistota, SD, Dinah M. Konda (Frank) of New Effington, SD and Dinal M. Carlson (Bruce) of Garretson, SD; his grandchildren, Travis Konda (Ursula) of Crystal, MN, Loren Konda (Kimberly) of Garretson, Alan Konda (Abbey) of Oshkosh, WI, Neal Konda of Pierre, SD, Kama Varilek (Brandon) of Harrisburg, SD, Bart Merrigan (Lacey) of Granger, IA, Krysta Widman (Todd) of Sioux Falls, SD, Austin Carlson (Baylee) and Zachary Carlson (Candie); his stepgranddaughter Kirsten Allbee of Aberdeen, SD; and his grandsons, Jaden, Daren and Kerry. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
