He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Arhart and Clara Arhart (Feistner); his parents-in-law, Russell and Elsie Salmen; his siblings, Alice (Gene Olsen) and Laverne Arhart (Judy); his brother-in-law Richard Ekstrum; and his grandson Briggs Anderson.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Salmen; his brother LaVerne Arhart; his stepfather Leonard Sheffield; his children, Rod, Rodney and Susan Anderson; his grandchildren, Devan and Bradon Anderson; and his sisters, Agnes Ekstrum and Diane Thompson (Harlan).
