She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Kaiser and Mary Kaiser (Pirmantgen); her husband John "Cal" Calvin Mathison; her daughter Pauline Mathison of Madison, SD; her granddaughter Katelyn Mathison of Sioux Falls, SD; and her brother Curtis Kaiser of Alexandria, MN..

She is survived by: her children, Patricia Bradley (Martin) of Plymouth, MN, Jill Hollister (Greg) of Rapid City, SD, Scott Mathison (Karen) of Madison, SD, Mike Mathison (Jama) of Yankton, SD, Bob Mathison (Donna) of Madison, SD, Colleen Garrett (Rhett) of Guthrie, OK and John Mathison (Molly) of Sioux Falls, SD; and her sister Mary Jean Filippi of Little Falls, MN.. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren.
