With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Daniel Joseph Mielke in Madison, South Dakota, who passed away on August 5, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Kathryn C Mielke (Kelly); and his siblings, Eddie, Bill, Gatian, Kathleen, Virginia, Allen, Gene and Charlie.
He is survived by: his father Edwin C Mielke; his wife Marlys Mielke (Yerigan) of Brookings; his children, Joseph of Sturgis, SD and Sara of Hopkins, MN; his granddaughter Tiadra Hartze (Sean) of Parker, SD; and his great grandchild Barrett Hartze. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Eidsness Funeral and Cremation Services (1617 Orchard Dr, Brookings, SD 57006). A prayer will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Elkton City Cemetery (21849 486th Ave, Elkton, SD 57026).
