He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Bohlen (Irene) and Reka Bohlen (Benting); his wife Helen Grabow; his children, Richard Bohlen and Jenica Bohlen; and his siblings, Arthur Bohlen, James Bohlen, Donald Bohlen, Reiner Bohlen, Milton Bohlen and Vera Tietjen.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Bulygo (Bill) of Apple Valley, MN, Douglas Bohlen (Beth) of Corona, SD and Earl Bohlen (Lena) of Spring Branch, TX; his daughter-in-law Bobbie Bohlen of Milbank, SD; his grandchildren, Eric Bulygo, Maryn Miklas, Zachary Bulygo, Emily Carr, Caroline Bohlen-Kilgore, Jon Bohlen, Christopher Bohlen, Claire Bohlen, Robert Schafer and Reanna Schafer; and his brothers, Dean Bohlen and Dennis Bohlen. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to the following charitable organizations: Orphan Grain Train and Citizens for Big Stone Lake.
