We are sad to announce that on February 13, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Janet Mikkelson Grorud (Milbank, South Dakota). You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, L. M. and Cornelia Davis (Wilson); her former husband Wayne Mikkelson (Bud); and her brothers, Donald and Darrell Davis.

She is survived by: her husband Dick Grorud of Milbank, SD; her children, Dan Mikkelson (Tammy) of Milbank, SD and Cindy Hay (Scott) of Abilene, TX; her grandsons, Craig Hay (Lacy) of Nacogdoches, TX, Tony Hay (Julie) of Abilene, TX, Josh Mikkelson (Danielle) of Watertown, SD, Chris Hay (Kylee) of Granbury, TX, Mark Mikkelson (Trista) of Milbank, SD, Matt Mikkelson (Jenna) of Alpena, SD and Jeff Hay (Bailey) of Abilene, TX; her stepchildren, Jan Liebe (Arvid) of Milbank, SD and Jim Grorud (Teresa) of Milbank, SD; and her sisters-in-law, May Zirbel of Huntington Beach, CA and Ann Schlosser (Tom) of Tuscon, AZ. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.

While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to gather for visitations and services. The use of face masks by attendees is recommended, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean.

In lieu of flowers, Jan's family suggests memorials be given to the Milbank Education Foundation.
