He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Byrd and Pearl Byrd (Keller); and his siblings, Dwight, Duane, Mert and Ronald.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Byrd; his children, Geoffrey Byrd (Teresa) of Mitchell, SD, Kim Strehlow (Mike), Dawn Grissom of Mitchell, SD and Peggy Christiansen; his grandchildren, Jenny, Travis, Lyndsie, Cody, Casey, Brianna, Makayla, Haley and Cole; his great grandchildren, Kaden, Porter, Kaleb, Alivia, Addysen, Emersyn and Londyn; and his siblings, Denny Byrd (Joan) of Mitchell, SD, Gayle Norwick (Bob) of Mitchell, SD and Betty Sterner (Don). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
