She was predeceased by: her parents, John Breland and Lula Breland (Olson); her husband Merle; her daughter Jeanne Hodges; her daughter-in-law Darlette Runestad; and her brother Irvin Breland.
She is survived by: her children, Christine Dierks (Ken) of Sioux Falls, Rebecca Dewald (Darrel) of Lakeville, David Runestad of Eagan Minnesota, Robert Runestad of Broomfield and Dan Runestad (Amy) of Custer; her grandchildren, Jill Esterly-Jayne, Lisa Gomarko, Matt Runestad, Karen Kaczrowski, Mike Dierks, Kari Dierks, Amber Runestad and Tyler Runestad; her sisters, Annabelle Swanson (Bob) of Puyallup and Marilyn Berry (Jim) of Puyallup; and her sister-in-law Eunice Breland of Miller.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church in Mitchell or Good Samaritan Society in Lennox, South Dakota.
