It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Orville W. Ackerman (Mound City, South Dakota), who passed away on January 24, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Ackerman and Bertha Ackerman (Klingman); his brother Alvin; his sister-in-law Pearl; his son-in-law Lloyd Bower; and his grandson Shawn Lebeda.
He is survived by: his wife Alvina Heiser of Mound City; his children, Karen Bower of Draper, SD, Shelly Winterberg (Dale) of Selby, SD, Kevin Ackerman (Vicki) of Lisbon, ND and Scott Ackerman (Dawn) of Watertown, SD; his sister Evangeline Johnson (Hugh) of Pamona, CA; his grandchildren, Jeff (Mark Lebeda), Lori Winterberg, Jacob (John Ackerman) and Jay Ackerman; and his stepgrandchildren, Sandra Baker, Gloria Kummer and Heath Bower. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, eight step great-grandchildren, and thirteen step great-great-grandchildren.
