He was predeceased by: his parents, Talton Hawk and Jennie Hawk; his former wife Eileen Hawk (Stover); his son Steve, Jr.; and his siblings, Michael Joe Hawk, Sara Forney, Phoebe Thunder Horse and Tillie White.

He is survived by: his wife Pru; his children, Nichelle, Dalene, Cristy, Stefany and Sean; his brother Lambert Hawk (Mary); and his brother-in-law Darold Forney.
