He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Schenefeld and Donna Lou Schenefeld (Bell); and his grandparents, Elmer, Hazel Bell, Jake and Lizzy Schenefeld.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara VanDyk; his daughter Christie Schenefeld (Mark Flenard) of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Tanner Koster (Allison Poncelet) and Carysn Koster; his stepgrandchildren, Miranda and Nate Flenard of Sioux Falls, SD; his sisters, Kathy Tiede (Merlyn) of Parkston, SD and Marilyn Bernhand (Todd); his nieces, Tonya Tiede of Parkson, SD, Emily Bernhard (Zach Petersen) and Laura Schluckebier (Jake) of Rapid City, SD; and his nephew Austin Bernhard (Jenny) of Pierre, SD.
Due to COVID concerns, a private, family service will be held at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Tripp.
Memorials would be preferred in lieu of flowers.
