He was predeceased by : his parents, Roy Emerson and Gertrude Emerson (Thomas); his wife Lucille Parsley; his daughter Ann Reinsch; and his great grandchild Katelyn Oberg.

He is survived by : his children, Greg Emerson (Kathy) of Powell, Mark Emerson (Terry) of Pierre and Debbie Fitzgerald (Duane) of Pierre. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
