She was predeceased by : her parents, Albert Whitenack and LaMorne Whitenack (Stegmann); her siblings, Howard Whitenack, LeRoy Whitenack and LaJune Pauley; her granddaughter Sarina Carstensen; and her son-in-law Dave Reyes.

She is survived by : her husband Chuck Carstensen of Philip; her children, Randy Carstensen (Bounyeng) of Albertville, Minnesota, Cheryl Reyes of Halbrook, Tammi Schofield of Philip and Melody Kelly (Tony) of Black Hawk; and her siblings, William Whitenack of Iowa, Paul Whitenack (Erla) of Iowa, Marcella Buchanan of Missouri and Sue Ibach of Iowa. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Breast Cancer Society or Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
