With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Asmussen of Ramona, South Dakota, born in Mount Vernon, South Dakota, who passed away on January 15, 2021 at the age of 91. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Asmussen to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Asmussen and Alma Asmussen (Titze); his father-in-law John Lohan; his brother Darrell; his brothers-in-law, Pat and Dale Stav; his sister Pat; his brother-in-law Donald Lohan; his grandson Chad Driscoll; and his great grandchild John Tiyler Westra.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Lohan of Ramona; his children, Roger Asmussen (Linda) of Hutchinson, MN, Rod Asmussen (Pam) of Arlington, SD, Jo Westra (Jeri) of Centerville, SD, CoCo Driscoll (Duane) of Sioux Falls, SD, Pam Bossman of Sioux Falls, SD, Pat Plucker (Joel) of Hartford, SD and LuLu Wheelock (Mike) of Sioux Falls, SD.; his grandchildren, Jenni Leonhardt (Bruce), Jeremy Asmussen (Kim), Eric Asmussen (Heather), Heather Pike (Bill), Matthew Asmussen, John Westra (Jennifer), James Westra (Katie), Jerica Sieperda (Jimmy), JenaLee Dykstra (Jeremy), Kaitlyn Wheelock and Hannah Wheelock; and his siblings, Ronnie Asmussen (Sanna) of Madison, SD and VonDean Stav of Oxnard, CA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.
