With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Jean Ann Schacher of Rapid City, South Dakota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Jean Ann left this world on November 10, 2025 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Isabell Slowey (Smith) and Peter Slowey; her husband Eugene Schacher; her siblings, John, Robert, Isabelle, Patricia, Mary, Delores and Theresa; her daughter Carol Renner; her great grandchildren, Rachel Still and Noah Schacher; her son-in-law William Osthoff; and her grandson-in-law Matthew Still.
She is survived by: her children, Steven Schacher of Rapid City, Joseph Schacher (Linda) of Rapid City, William Schacher (Diane) of Sedalia, CO, Linda Schacher (William Black) of Abilene, KS, Patty Still (Larry) of Casper, WY, Mary Ann Osthoff of Lakewood, CO, Susan Portillo (Patrick) of Aurora, CO and Diane Scharbauer (Alex) of Rapid City. She is also survived by 9 children, 37 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Our Lady of the Black Hills Catholic Church (12365 Sturgis Rd, Piedmont, SD 57769). A vigil service will be held on Monday, November 17th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery (1901 Mountain View Rd, Rapid City, SD 57702).
