Eleanor L. Gevik Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor L. Gevik (Salem, South Dakota), born in Freeman, South Dakota, who passed away on December 12, 2019, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Oscar Wek and Pauline Wek of Turner County; her husband Dewey C. Gevik; her great grandchild Christian Gevik Thorkelson; her siblings, Lawrence Wek (Marilyn), Evelyn Erickson (John), Parker, Judith Akland (Melvin), Gladys Zulk (Ed) and Audrey Bork (Duane); her nephew Lawrence Charles Wek (Buddy); and her niece Lois Howard (Dick).
She is survived by : her brother-in-law Duane Bork; her sons, Orris (Kim) and Brian (Elizabeth); her granddaughter Kristen Thorkelson (Christopher); and her great grandchildren, Harper, Oliver and Erin Hamilton (Christopher). She is also survived by several cousins, and 16 nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Eleanor Gevik Memorial Fund at Laura B. Anderson Elementary School.
