He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Schillinger and Dora Schillinger; his wife Darlis Hoeltzner; his son Richard; his stepson Paul Stirling; and his great grandchild Kaydence Dant.

He is survived by : his daughters, Sandra Miller and Patty Wilson; his stepdaughter Cherie Stirling of Parkston; his siblings, Mike, Les, Bob Schillinger and Deb Scott; and his sister-in-law Ila Rae Radzitis. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
