He was predeceased by: his parents, Einar Gaarder and Florence Gaarder (Klinkel); and his wife Betty. He is survived by: his brother Larry Gaarder (Barb); his goddaughter Kathy Hofer (Phil); his children, Nicholas, Emily (Tyler Morris) and Travis (Sage Hendrickson); and his niece Jeanne Gaarder.
