He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roosevelt McGruder and Brooksie McGruder (Rogers); his spouse Mary; his children, Craig McGruder, Bernice Williams, Eliza Harris, Meegan Vellek and Major McGruder; his siblings, Rodney McGruder and Sandra Richardson; his son Marshall McGruder; and his sister Helen McGruder. He was also cherished by fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
