He is survived by: his wife Kellen Decoteau; his children, Charles Backman, Kayleen Huerta and Eileen Backman; his siblings, Darrell Decoteau Sr. (Peggy) of Flandreau, SD, Pat Decoteau, Dan Decoteau of Dunseith, ND, Dennis Baker (Diane) of Belcourt, ND, John Poitra of Belcourt, ND, Mary Lockwood and Susie Decoteau of Dunseith, ND; his aunts, Beatrice Decoteau of Belcourt, ND and Auntie June St. Claire of Belcourt, ND; his uncle Glenn Baker of Albuquerque, WA; his sister-in-law Chyrel Decoteau of Sisseton, SD; and his nephews, Darrell "Bucky" Lockwood, Leslie "Gummer" Decoteau and Donovan "Duck" Charbonneau. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters.
