She was predeceased by : her parents, Harry Cunningham and Ada Cunningham (Greene); her husband John Brown; and her siblings, Robert, Mabel, Donald and Lois.

She is survived by : her daughters, Deb Richardson (Kim) of Grant, NE, Barb Hansen (Mike) of Spearfish and Tish Beckwith (Gene) of Reliance, SD; her sister Ruth Jones of O'Neill, NE; and her grandchildren, Josh Richardson (Heather), Jeremiah Richardson (Karyn), Jarod Richardson (Jamie), Justin Richardson (Debbie), Julianna Richardson (Austin Bestgen), Anna Smith (Ryan), Jerrold Hansen (Bethany), Elizabeth Gellett (Jason), Jonathan Hansen (Katharine), Michael and Andrew Beckwith. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established in Betty's memory to Garden Hills Assisted Living in Spearfish.
