He was predeceased by: his wife Myrt; his son James "Jimmy" Voorhees; his parents, James Voorhees and Bertha Voorhees; and his sister Janice.
He is survived by: his children, Autumn Gregory, D'Anna Hitson and Marc Voorhees (Cari) of Spearfish; his grandchildren, Heather Hitson of Los Angeles, CA, Sara Gregory and Seth Voorhees of Rapid City; and his great grandchild Easton Gregory of Rapid City.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the scholarship fund for Thunderhead Episcopal Church Camp.
