It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lena M Anderson Bortnem of Toronto, South Dakota, who passed away on December 27, 2021, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her husband Walter Anderson; her sons, Robert Anderson (Annie) and Steven Anderson; her granddaughter Heather; and her former life partner Chester Bortnem of Brookings.

She is survived by : her children, Darwin Anderson (Michaele) of Friendsville, TN, Patricia Buri of Brookings, SD, Doreen Campbell (Tom) of Brookings, SD, Georgetown and Allen Anderson (Connie) of Sioux Falls, SD; and her grandchildren, Harry, Janet, Dianna, Stuart, Jimmy, Mike, Savanna and Tara. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends.

She loved playing pinochle and did so with friends every Saturday at the senior center until the corona virus interrupted that activity.
