It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Verlyn Schimke of Wessington Springs, South Dakota, who passed away on March 5, 2024, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Schimke and Della Schimke (Vogel); his brother Vernon Schimke; and his mother-in-law June Mathis. He is survived by : his wife Renee Mathis of Wessington Springs; his sister Virginia Van Eck (Jack) of Lake Wilson, MN; his siblings-in-law, Delores Schimke of Nebraska and Raymond Mathis of Artesian; and his nieces, Linda Nissen of Nebraska, Lynette Mitzel (Tony) of Nebraska, Jolyn Lemburg (Rob) of Tracey, MN, Shannon Baccanini (Steve) of Pheonix, AZ and Laura Ross of Minneapolis. He is also survived by one nephew; several grand nieces; and many cousins.
