It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Ann Bender of Westport, South Dakota, who passed away on July 3, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wallace Dennert and Irene Dennert (Steffen); her former husband Duane Plummer; her son Kevin Plummer; her siblings, Phyllis Dennert, Earl and Dennis Dennert; her son-in-law Sam Backous; and her sister-in-law Shirley Dennert.
She is survived by: her husband Terry Bender; her children, Nancy Backous, Tina Blair (Jerry), Debbie Brick (Jim) and Scott Plummer (Amanda); her stepchildren, Stacy Maunu (Jason), Tanya Bender and Jason; her grandchildren, Michael Backous, Daniel Blair, Samantha Brick, Stefanie Plummer, Marcus Plummer, Nathan Maunu (Kate), Shannen Maunu (Kurt Frazier), Darin McGaugh and Memphys Storm; and her great grandchild Adam Frazier.
In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials to Barnard UCC.
