He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Thiry and Clara Thiry (Mairose); his wife Mary; his sister Darlene Tripp; and his stepgrandson Derek Swanson.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Thiry (Linda) of White Lake, SD, Steve Thiry (Brenda), Tom Thiry (Janice), Doug Thiry (Deb), Marlene Haines (Bruce), Lori Hauge, Donna Swanson (Kim) and Karen Michaels (Dean). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
