He was predeceased by: his children, Mary, Karl, Dale, Dean and John; and his sister Christine Kruse Kaberna.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Todd Kathol, Bradley Kathol, Mark Kathol, Tomas Kathol, Kurtis Kathol, Jacob Mackey, Brian Hodges, Matthew Hodges, Spencer Carl, Audrey Klingele (Mark), Karen Carl, Wendy Mackey, Jennifer Kathol and Renee Carl; his significant other John Appliance; his son Don; his wife Maureen of Bow Valley; his children, Linda Carl (David) of Shawnee, KS, Lori Mackey (Charles) of Yankton, SD, Paula Hodges (Michael) of Lincoln, NE, Donavin Kathol (Joyce) of Bow Valley and Julie Childers (Scott) of Lincoln, NE; his sisters, Delores Sudbeck (Norman) of Hartington and Mary Ann Stastny (Joseph) of Lennox, SD.; and also Art Kathol Appliance. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Sts. Peter & Paul church.
