She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Flynn and Esther Flynn (Saugstad) of Irene, SD.; her husband Dennis Fischer of Tripp, SD.; her siblings-in-law, Eugene and Judy Fischer; and her in-laws, Ervin and Irene Fischer.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Fischer Jr. (Sherry) of Tripp, Terry Fischer (Sheri) of Tripp and Sherry Friman (John) of Tripp; her grandchildren, Brittany Zwak (Brice), Dustin Fischer (Jen), Cody Fischer (Shelby), Trisha Weber (Wade), Malorie Walz (Tony), Dalton Fischer, Kelley Eggebraaten (Austin), Morgan Macleary (Damon) and Jacey Friman; her brother James Flynn; and her sister-in-law Donna Schaeffer (Gerald).
After numerous medical issues dealing with Alzheimer's, Mary Ellen entered Bormann Manor in Parkston, SD, December 2022.
