He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. John Ulysses and Joan Carey Speer. He is survived by: his siblings, Robert Michael Speer, Stephen F. Speer, Daniel McKenzie Speer, Mary Toby Perkins and Frank H. Speer (Joanne) of Smyrna, TN.; and his siblings' children, Carey Lenss, Scott Speer, Reagan Tennant, John U. Speer, Lindsay Perkins, Hughes Speer and Rachel Hollingsworth.
The family suggest memorial donations to be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Center c/o St. Jude Honors 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
