He was predeceased by: his father Frank Gene Smith; and his stepfather Horace Slagle. He is survived by: his mother Betty Slagle; his sisters, Judy Slagle and Helen Marshall; his aunts, Rose Harwell and Frances Holland; and his close friends, Betty, Mark and Mike McNeese. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
