He was predeceased by: his parents, Furman W. Smith, Sr. and Dora Ables; and his sister Marilyn. He is survived by: his wife Helen; his children, David (Sue) and Lisa (Bill); his grandson James (Sarah); and his siblings, Carolyn and Furman (Betty). He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
